We came here for lunch on a Sunday and waited for 45 mins before being seated. There were only two women working the front dining room and since service was slow, table turnovers were slow too. So expect a wait but the food was very good. We like that they have pictures on their menus. We ordered the dan dan noodles, the chong qing noodles (my favorite), the pork chop noodle, youpo noodle, and xiao long bao. All were good and portions were large. I do like the spicy mala flavors and that's in quite a lot of their dishes. Mild still has a kick to it, fyi. The parking lot is too small for the restaurants in shopping area as is common in a lot of Asian areas. But there are plenty of free street parking around.

Reasonable priced meal. saw this place on instagram and was intrigued to try it out myself. Definitely delicious!!! There wasn’t a wait but seating is limited. The noodle I ordered was #29 and it wasn’t severely spicy. Sauce was at the bottom of the bowl so give it a big stir first before eating. Pig ear was good! Wasn’t spicy at all and it was portioned well to split it into two separate portions.

Finally got a chance to try out this place. I came here around 5pm on a Tuesday, so there was no wait. But soon after, people started showing up. I ordered Chongqing Handmade Noodles, Shredded Potato, and Seaweed Salad. For the noodles I requested medium spicy, but I think I could have handled higher spice level. The handmade noodles were slightly too soft (overcooked), which I typically prefer more al dente. The broth had really good aromatic flavor. The fried egg on top was a good touch, and the bok choi was just right. The side dishes paired well with the noodles, which I highly recommend. Overall the dining experience was good. I would definitely return.

I recently tried Chong Qing Special Noodles and it definitely lived up to the hype! The soup dumplings were a standout—each one was packed with a generous amount of rich, flavorful broth that didn’t disappoint. You can really tell they’re made with care. The noodles were just as impressive. They’re handmade, and you can taste the difference—the texture was perfectly chewy and they held onto the flavors of the dish so well. If you’re craving authentic, comforting noodles and solid dumplings, this spot is absolutely worth checking out.

After a not-so-great experience at Mian, I decided to try Chong Qing Special Noodles in San Gabriel with a buddy for lunch, and this place completely redeemed it for me. They serve a very similar style of noodles, but everything here just felt better, both in terms of food and overall experience. No weird surprises, no extra items added, just straightforward ordering and solid service. I ordered the Chong Qing Special at level 5 spice (mala), which is comparable to the insanely spicy noodles at Mian. It had that bold numbing heat, super flavorful, came with a fried egg and exactly what I was craving. I also got the spicy beef noodle soup (5/5 spice, no mala), which had a deep, rich broth with a clean heat that didn’t overpower the dish. Both dishes hit. The spice was intense but balanced, and you can tell they know what they’re doing with flavor. Service was smooth and honest, which I appreciated even more after my last experience elsewhere. Parking is probably the only downside. It’s in a busy plaza with a ton of other restaurants, so finding a spot can be a bit of a challenge. Overall, if you’re looking for that Chengdu-style noodle fix, this spot does it right. Better food
